In Monday’s keynote at Nvidia’s GTC 2024 match, CEO Jenson Huang saved repeating the phrase “AI factory.”
“Within the final Industrial Revolution, the uncooked fabric that went into the factory modified into water,” Huang told TechCrunch in an interview after the keynote. “And the product modified into electricity.”
He modified into comparing this — turning uncooked fabric into something else which bear payment — to the notion of files centers, which can be purely money pits. “There’s a novel Industrial Revolution going down in these [server] rooms: I call them AI factories,” Huang said. “The uncooked fabric that goes in is files and electricity. What comes out of it’s files tokens. The token is invisible and can also very smartly be disbursed right thru the area. It’s very treasured.”
The excellence makes a range of sense in a world where Nvidia advantages vastly if it would persuade firms to imagine files centers and AI tools in a undeniable approach. “The final time, files centers went into your firm’s designate centers and capital expenditure. You watched of it as designate. Nonetheless, a factory is a undeniable thing. It makes money,” he said. “The novel world of generative AI has a novel invent of factory.”
